Jason Brewer – FingerLakes Entertainment

…creating events as beautiful as the Finger Lakes

Jim & Carolyn, 6-20-09

This Saturday brought us out to a new location. Three Brothers Winery is located off Rt. 96A in Geneva and while it doesn’t quite have as much lakeview that so many people look for in their Finger Lakes Weddings, it did prove to be a really cool place to have a Wedding with a group of great people to work with. I’m not sure how many events they do there each year, but I do look forward to the opportunity to work there in the future.

Carolyn and Jim’s Wedding Reception was an absolute blast! The weather: day 3 in a row of pretty consistent rain. Dark, gloomy, rain…rain…rain.

The impact on the Bride and Groom and their guests: None!

We started off the evening with a standard cocktail hour and then moved in to a receiving line. It was originally scheduled to be outside but with the weather as it was, we moved it inside. The tented area next to the winery was large enough to accommodate a nice line, allowing everyone the opportunity to say their hello’s and Thank you’s to the couple and their parents.

After the receiving line, we went right in to our Grand Entrances. Multi-song entrances again (always a great time), where the members in the Wedding party each took a moment to give us some of their moves as they entered the dining hall.

Our Grand Entrances songs lined up like this:

Parents of the Bride – “Walking on Sunshine”

Parents of the Groom – “I hope you dance”

Flower girl, Ring bearers – “We’re all in this together – High School Musical”

Couple 1 –  “Rocky Theme Song”

Couple 2 – “Get Ready – The Temptations”

Couple 3 – “Just Dance by Lady Gaga”

Couple 4 – “ACDC – Thunderstruck”

Couple 5 – “You Make Me Wanna Shout”

Maid of Honor, Best man – “Staying Alive”

Bride and Groom – “Celebration by Kool and the Gang”

Because the buffet table was on the dance floor, we waited until after dinner to do our dances, so after intros, we went into a Welcome and Thank you provided by the Father of the Bride and then in to toasts and dinner.

About 1/2 way through dinner, Jim and Carolyn also provided their guests with a Welcome and Thank you, which we followed up with the Fingerlakes Entertainment patented, “Freeze Frame Game” to award the Centerpiece to one of the guests.

We didnt get any pictures of the First dance as it was shot on video. They had been practicing a couple different steps, so we began their first dance with Journey’s “Open Arms” and at the half way point, switched it up to Michael Buble’s “Sway.”

On to the pictures….

Unfortunately, we are also without any pictures of the Mother/Son dance as well. The pictures were shot by my assistant, who didnt get any good enough shots for me to post. This is why I wouldn’t recommend hiring a DJ company to take your Wedding Photographs (lol).

We also did a Love Story with Jim and Carolyn. Their were basically 4 sections to the Love Story. At the end of each section, we invited those guests associated with that part of their lives to join them on the dance floor. These things can sometimes be “hit or miss,” but whenever the guests were invited to the floor, the came with a lot of energy and really turned it in to a lot of fun.

This Wedding Reception was a blast. Jim and Carolyn brought with them a group of energetic and fun guests that helped keep the evening going throughout the night.

Jim and Carolyn – Thank you for having us out. We had a Great time!

Best wishes,

Jason
