Cato Meridian Spring Formal 4-24-09
2009 opened up this year with a few small Sweet 16’s and some smaller corporate events. This was my first “big” event to start off the season and it started the season off on a great note. Friday the 24th brought myself and DJ Boolanger out to The Lodge at Welch Allyn. This is a beautiful looking place in Skaneateles where Cato Meridian chose to hold their 2009 Spring Formal. The evening began slowly with parents and students showing up around 6:15. They spent the first 45 minutes or so getting in, finding seats and taking pictures throughout the building. We did an open dance set from 7:00 – 7:30, where most of the kids remained pretty conservative. I think it was because their parents were still there (lol).
At 7:30 we introduced the Prom Court to the stairway where they had pictures taken by both photographer and parents.

After pictures, the Court shared a dance to Enrique Iglesius – I can be your Hero.

After their first dance, parents took a few more pictures at which point, at 7:45 – we were instructed to kick the parents out! And that we did. The students then all enjoyed a great dinner and at about 9:00, we opened the dance floor for an evening of dance. They specifically wanted some music that was outside of the typical “mode.” Our play list for the evening included a number of 80’s rock hits, including Bon Jovi, AC/DC and others, as well as some older rock like the Twist and Shout, Old Time Rock & Roll and a few country hits.

These kids were a great group of kids and were a lot of fun. What was really cool is that the event came to FLE via their class adviser, Willow, who’s wedding I was honored to be a part of last year.
Cato Meridian – Thanks for having FLE out for Your 2009 Prom!
Willow – Thank you for the invite.
